One family. One passion. One story.
Producing wines with the soul of the Douro since 2002.
Our story began long before the first bottle. It was born on the slopes of the Douro, where the winemaker's grandparents tended their own vines.
From childhood, he followed this work closely, learning the value of the vineyard and forging a connection to the land. It was this experience that led him to pursue Oenology and to transform inherited knowledge into a passion: producing wines that reflect the identity of the Douro.
After several years of learning and experience at different estates in the region, he acquired his first vineyard in Alijó on August 13, 2001, a date even more special for coinciding with the birth of his first child.
The first wines emerged from those grapes.
Driven by the dream of creating something truly his own, he joined his four brothers and created Sobredos, a name resulting from the union of their first two vineyards: Sobradais and Malvedos.
From this vision, their own winery was born, built at Quinta do Estremadouro, in Penajóia, the place where his grandparents lived.
The brand name originates from a plant that grows in abundance in some of our vineyards.
Also known as fennel or dill and symbolically associated with love, it perfectly represents the essence of this project: a brand born from passion, dedication, and respect for the land and our family's history.
We cultivate 17 hectares of vineyards distributed across different areas of the Douro, producing high-quality wines through small batches that respect the unique character of each terroir.
White Grape Vineyards
Located at Quinta do Estremadouro, in the parish of Penajóia. 4 hectares of vineyards in a transition region towards Vinho Verde, with a Mediterranean-Atlantic climate and soils that are a mixture of granite and schist. The varieties are: Semillon, Arinto, Folgasão, Viosinho, Gouveio, Cerceal, and Encruzado.
Red Grape Vineyards - Douro Superior
Castedo do Douro, Sobradais, and Malvêdos parish, where we cultivate 7 hectares of mature vines in poor, schistous soils with clay outcrops. The planted varieties are: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, and Souzão.
Red Grape Vineyards - Baixo Corgo
Alvações do Corgo parish, with 4 ha of red vineyards featuring the following grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Baga, and Tinto Cão.
High-altitude vineyards
Barrô parish, Pardelhas locality. At a high altitude (450 meters), with an Atlantic climate and granitic soils with some limestone. It is from these 2 hectares, already planted by us, that we produce the grapes for the Pinot Noir varietal and sparkling wine, as well as for the sweet white wine “inês”.
Our Winery
It is located at Quinta do Estremadouro - Penajóia - Lamego.
The estate's old winery, where all post-vineyard work is concentrated, has been rehabilitated.
This is where we receive the grapes, carry out the vinification process, aging, bottling, and shipping.
In the new wing, we have expanded and built a new space which houses the barrel room and the tasting room with a shop.
More than just producing wine, we preserve and share our family project, which continues to be built every day with the same passion that gave rise to the first dream.
Aneto & Table
To continue this story and bring consumers even closer to the brand, Aneto & Table was also born, a wine shop and restaurant in the city of Peso da Régua.
A space where our wines take center stage as they are paired with traditional local dishes, made with high-quality products and a touch of innovation.
